64 km from Coban (1.5-2 hours); 270km from the capital (6 hours)

WHERE TO GET A MICROBUS
Parking area in Coban for microbuses to Lanquin is one block to the east of the firestation, 4 blocks from the central park, on 3rd avenue. There are no chicken buses to Lanquin. In Lanquin, the microbuses circulate picking up passengers, or you can wait at the intersection at the entrance to town near the (pink) Rabin Itzam hotel. All microbuses have to pass here to go to Coban.

SCHEDULE
The microbus schedules are erratic and subject to change. Confirm upon arriving in Lanquin or Coban and arrive early to save a seat. Buses leave when full. Between Coban and Lanquín it is Q25, between Lanquín and Semuc Champey it is Q10.
Lanquín-Cobán: 6am, 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, 10:30am, 4pm, 5:30pm
Cobán-Lanquín: 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 5pm, 5:40pm, 6:15pm
Semuc Champey-Lanquín-Coban: 5am, 11:30am, 12pm
Coban-Lanquin-Semuc Champey: 5:45am, 7:30am, 8:30am, 11am, 12pm
Lanquín-Semuc Champey: 1pm, 3pm
Semuc Champey- Lanquín: 2:30pm, 4:30pm
Servicio para turistas a Semuc Champey, everyday: Leaves from Lanquin at 9:30am, returns between 4pm and 5pm (Q15 one way, Q30 round trip)

Once in Lanquin it is another 11km (30 min) to Semuc Champey. Ask at your hotel in Lanquin or one of the microbus drivers to show you one of many pick-up locations. Microbuses (Q10) depart ½ block from the main square at various times throughout the day (schedules change often), however on market days (Monday, Thursday and Sunday) they leave regularly throughout the day starting in the morning. Also there are several large trucks that leave throughout the morning from the main square that may return midday. On foot, two and a half hours (each way). Driving, 4 wheel drive or high clearance car with good tires is recommended.
