STORES
There are many stores around town where you can buy snacks and drinks to take to Champey or wherever you’re headed.

At Semuc, there is a small store in the visitors center (open weekends and holidays) that sells t-shirts, sandals, swimsuits, and souvenirs of Semuc Champey.

Market days are Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. Vegetables, fruits and other basic food items are available, including tamales as well as things like radios and plastic ware. Fruit and vegetable availability (such as pineapple, mango, apples, bananas, avocados, and cantaloupe) is based on the season.

Banrural- “In Banrural, S.A. we are proud to offer more than services. We continue growing to help you grow.” Open 8:30pm-5pm Monday to Friday, 9am-1pm Saturday. International services: US Dollar Exchange, Credit Cards, Advance Payment Pre Exportation, Advance Payment Post Importation, International Transfers, Exchange of Travelers Checks. MoneyGram. They do not have an ATM machine.

PHARMACIES
There are a few pharmacies with basic medicines located in the center of town.

Radios The Municipal government has radios at the parks (Semuc and the Caves) and in Lanquin.
Police There are national police and municipal police; the national police have vehicles.
Health There is a first aid kit at Semuc Champey and the Lanquin Caves and the park workers at Semuc are trained in first aid. The Health Center located in Lanquin has 24-hour service in case of a serious emergency. Helicopters can land in the area if need be.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Telephone Most stores rent telephone service for Q1-Q1.50 a minute (local calls), Q6. a minute (international).
Cell Phone Service There is cell phone coverage with Tigo (Comcel) in Lanquin, in the town, but not in Semuc Champey (unless you are at the Overlook Point on the trail in the park). Some stores now sell the cards to add more minutes to your phone.

Cyberlink- one block from main square, Q8/hour. 8am-10pm Everyday. CD and DVD Burning.

Radio

101.5 FM Champey Stereo and 100.3 FM Loyal Stereo, cultural and musical programs, message service available.
